The Blue Lagoon which lies between the Island of Comino and the Islet of Cominotto has been described as a jewel and a paradise is one of
the most picturesque places to visit when in Malta.
The pure white sand on the sea bed is clearly visible, as is the reflection of the characteristic clear blue sky, both contributing to a dreamlike atmosphere. The long and narrow bay protected by rocks has the perfect atmosphere, environment and conditions for swimming, snorkelling, scuba diving as well as for simply relaxing on the beach.
The beauty of the Lagoon has drawn film makers who made it the location for films such as the mini-series Helen of Troy, the film Swept Away, featuring Madonna and The Count of Monte Christo.
It is suitable for anyone and is well worth a visit.
